Dear friend,
Warmest greetings!
Some of you know that over the last four decades I have helped and worked with a wide variety of ministries and churches. I have spent a great deal of that time helping ministries put on all kinds of events such as fund-raising banquets, telethons and conferences. It has been my privilege to help ministries and churches raise tens of millions of dollars for God’s work.
I want to tell you about a program for churches and ministries that I think has unusual potential to help undergird their financial needs. Earlier this year I met Mike Myers, the president of MJM Business Group (we were both at a conference held at Grace Church in Houston). As Mike began to tell me about his love for the Lord, his business, and what he was doing to assist ministries and charities, I was absolutely stunned by what I was hearing—and excited about the huge potential.
In just a couple of paragraphs let me share what MJM is about and what the company is doing for the Kingdom of God.
MJM Business Group is a licensed agent for the major credit card processors. This Christian company has chosen to return a portion of its processing fees to every church/ministry/charity that becomes one of its clients. I’m sure you know that every time someone makes a donation by credit or debit card to your ministry/church, a portion of that gift is retained by the processors. We tend to view this as the “cost of doing business” (the percentage varies but it is often in the 2-3% range). MJM returns a portion of that fee to every 501(c)3 organization that it is the agent for—this is not a one-time gift; the donations are sent monthly. In addition, MJM is able to meet (and in many cases, lower) the percentage of the fee that is currently being paid.
I recommend that every church/ministry/charity get signed up on this. Rather than watch a portion of that processing fee disappear into the huge financial stream of the credit world, you might as well be getting it back! To me this is a no-brainer! What I have described to you briefly in the above paragraph is exciting but that is not where the real potential for ministries and churches lies.
Now, here is the real potential for ministries! Every ministry has friends that love it, pray for its success, and support it with their finances. Many of those supporters are business people who are taking payment by credit or debit card. If those friends of yours use the MJM Business Group as their credit card processing agent, then they can choose where the donation portion of the fees is sent.
Business people tend to see the potential in this program right away. There is no cost or risk to them to make the switch to MJM as their agent, and the change-over process is simple. MJM can usually meet or beat the current processing rates they are paying and they can have the profound joy of knowing that they are being able to increase their giving to a ministry they love, thereby being an even wiser steward of God’s blessing. I call this “above and beyond giving” because the program is not meant to replace their regular giving but, rather, to show them one way they can increase what they give with no actual extra cost to them.
Last year MJM Business Group gave 54% of their gross revenue to churches, ministries, and other non-profits. MJM is committed to giving at least 40% of the portion of the processing fee that they receive back to the ministry in the form of a donation—and that includes even very small ministries. Dozens of Christian schools have adopted this program and are now receiving significant donations every month. One school in Mississippi is now getting a check for close to $5000 every month and another in Augusta, Georgia, receives about $3000 every month. Statewide youth programs are choosing to get involved, missions programs like YWAM (Tyler, TX) are involved, and the list of new ministries and churches grows every single day. We have included a partial list of ministries and businesses that are involved with the Millennium Donation Program (the disbursal arm of MJM) in the accompanying folder.
There is so much more that I could tell you about MJM and this exciting new avenue of funding for ministries. If you want to call me or e-mail me, I would be delighted to talk more with you about what this could mean to you and your ministry. I am committing a portion of my time to helping Mike introduce this program and to helping churches and ministries get the program in place and make it successful.
I cannot help but think of Proverbs 13:22: “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”
Could this be one of the ways God is releasing a new stream of funds into His Kingdom?
Call me and let’s talk about how this program could benefit your ministry. My contact information is below. E-mail me with any questions you have about the Millennium Donation Program. We will gladly do a FREE SAVINGS ANALYSIS on your ministry or business and show you how we can save you money on the processing fee and how much could be given to the church, ministry or charity of your choice.
I look forward to hearing from you!
