About David Patterson Ministries
Both David and Carol Patterson are graduates of Bethany University in Santa Cruz, CA. They were married in the summer of 1965 and David graduated in 1966 with a degree in Theology.
Right after graduation David and Carol were invited to Denver, Colorado, where they pioneered a Teen Challenge program. In 1967 David Wilkerson asked them to move to New York and assist him in his growing Youth Crusades ministry. David served as Vice President and Crusade Director of David Wilkerson Youth Crusades from 1967 to the end of 1974.
In late 1974 David was invited to join the ministry of World Literature Crusade (now called Every Home for Christ). From 1974 to 1982 he served as Executive Vice President of World Literature Crusade, which had its headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. During his tenure with WLC, David oversaw the offices in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. During these years David traveled extensively throughout the world visiting over 60 nations. He also oversaw all the administrative activities of the offices under his supervision and was directly involved in all phases of fund raising (direct mail, banquets, donor relations, seminars, churches, radio and TV).
In 1964, David was instrumental in leading a teen-ager named Mario Murillo to Christ and eighteen years later, in 1982, Mario invited David to join Mario Murillo Ministries, his evangelistic ministry headquartered in the San Francisco Bay area. David served as Vice President of the organization and supervised all phases of the ministry, including the head office, direct mail, banquets, donor relations and crusades. David and Mario worked together for eleven years; in 1993 David and Carol left Mario Murillo Ministries and began David Patterson Ministries.
Carol is a gifted writer and editor. She has done editing for a number of writers and organizations, including six books for David Wilkerson. Carol is regularly contracted by churches, ministries and individuals to assist them in their writing and editing projects. She has authored one book,
An Uncommon Faith.
David travels extensively speaking in churches, conferences, conventions and workshops. He is often asked to teach on leadership principles and in men’s gatherings. In addition, David has served as a consultant to a variety of organizations including Marriage Plus, Marilyn Hickey Ministries, Christian Men’s Network, Nicky Cruz Ministries and others. David has authored one book, For Family and Friends, and is working on his second book.
Each week David writes a devotional/opinion article for his blog "For Family and Friends." The weekly articles began several years ago as a regular devotional e-mail for Carol and their children.
